Homeless Indicator

Homeless students must be entered in Powerschool for ISBE reporting.

(The homeless indicator is cleared at the completion of each school year

in July during the Powerschool rollover process.)

This function is currently performed by the APSS in each school.

Query on the homeless student in Powerschool:

Choose State/Province-IL on the left menu

Choose the Homeless tab

Do not enter data in the home and serving school fields. These will default to the proper

locations.

Check the homeless indicator box. Fill in ALL boxes below with response Yes or No, click submit.

A response for each box is required for ISBE reporting.

If a student’s address is out of district choose custom screens from the left menu in Powerschool.

If applicable, Check the indicator box for out of district/cab, click submit.
