Enrollment Dates
Depending on the time of year, different enrollment dates must be used to accommodate student enrollment scenarios.
During the School Year
School Enrollment
When enrolling a student, the enrollment date is the first day the student is present taking classes. When exiting a student, the exit date is the day after the last day the student is in class. Exit dates are automatically entered for new students and the date used is the day after the last day of the year.
Class Enrollment
Class enrollments follow the same rules as school enrollments. The entry date into a class is the same date the student’s first day in class. The exit date of a class is the day after the last day the student was in class,
Example: If 3rd hour is at 11 am, the day is the 5th, and the student drops the class at 1 pm, then the last day of class was the 5th and the date exited will be the 6th.
If student dropped the class at 9 am then the last day of class was the 4th and the date the student exited will be the 5th.
Preregistered students
Preregistered students actually follow the same rules as “School Enrollment”. If the student is preregistered for the next school year, the entry date is August 1st of the next school year. If you are unable to enroll on this date, please submit a Web Help Ticket to have this date activated.
Enrolled for Next year but not a current student
Incoming Freshman
Incoming freshman are enrolled into the correct middle school. The entry date is the date you receive the information and enter the student into PowerSchool. Incoming freshman are active students in the middle school. The exit date is automatically filled in. After the student is enrolled, be sure to correctly setup that student’s schedule setup.
10th, 11th, 12th Graders
These students are preregistered in the school they will be entering with the date of August 1st. When enrolling these students, use the grade level that they will be in on August 1st. After the student is enrolled, be sure to correctly setup that student’s schedule setup.
Example: If student is preregistering for 10th grade, the grade level entered during enrollment is 10.
After School, Before End of Year
After school and before end of year, the exit date will be the last day of school and the entry date will be August 1st of the year. When PREREGISTERING a student, place the student in the grade level they will be in for the next year. When registering an incoming freshman in the middle school you enroll them with the last day of school, to make them active. Be sure to set up all enrolled and preregistered student’s schedule setup. Schedules will be maintained in PowerScheduler.
After End of Year, Before School Starts
When exiting or enrolling a student, use August 1st for the entry and exit date. When entering a student into a class be sure to use August 1st for the students entry date and when exiting a student from a class use the date of August 1st.
