Absence Visibility to Subs
Substitute teachers can be a part of the following groups which impact when absences become visible to them in Aesop:
- A teacher’s preferred list / Fave 5
- A department’s preferred list
- A school’s preferred list
Teacher’s Preferred List / Fave 5 (120 days)
Substitutes listed on a teacher’s preferred list / Fave 5 will be able to see absences for that teacher up to 120 days in advance of the absence.
Fave 5 versus Teacher’s Preferred List
- Fave 5 receive an email when the respective teacher enters an absence
- Both the Fave 5 and Teacher’s Preferred List have visibility to and can accept absences up to 120 days in advance of the absence.
- Note: Glenbard cannot adjust this. If a teacher only wants the Fave 5 to see absences up to 120 days in advance, that teacher should not list more than 5 teachers on his/her preferred list. If there are other really good substitues consider talking to a DC about adding those substitutes to a deparement preferred list.
- The ordering of the Fave 5 impacts call order only. When calls are placed to teachers to fill an absence, the teachers #1 Fave 5 will be called first, then #2, and so on until all of the Fave 5 have been called.
Department’s Preferred List (110 days)
Substitutes listed on a department’s preferred list will be able to see absences for any teacher in that department up to 110 days in advance of the absence.
School’s Preferred List (100 days)
Substitutes listed on a school’s preferred list will be able to see absences for that teacher up to 100 days in advance of the absence.
All Substitutes (90 day)
All substitute teachers will be able to see absences 90 day in advance of the absence.
