{"id":4116,"date":"2019-06-21T13:05:47","date_gmt":"2019-06-21T18:05:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/docs.glenbard.org\/?p=4116"},"modified":"2025-02-27T14:11:18","modified_gmt":"2025-02-27T20:11:18","slug":"esy-extended-school-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/docs.glenbard.org\/index.php\/ps-2\/esy-extended-school-year\/","title":{"rendered":"ESY (Extended School Year)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"nolwrap\">\n<p>Per ISBE requirements,\nstudents attending extended school year with IEP\u2019s must maintain their\nenrollments through the summer (SIS\/ISTAR).&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any students identified as ESY (PowerSchool IEP\/504 page at the bottom) will be excluded from SIS EOY exit process round 1 with the general student population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SIS EOY exit process round\n2 \u2013 ESY students will be exited as a\ngroup per their <em>ESY end date<\/em>\nin Powerschool or 7\/31 which is the maximum exit date in SIS ,with the same\nexit code criteria as general student population for graduated\/retained\/promoted\netc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The student services department will maintain the Powerschool ESY data. All students must be identified before the SIS EOY date. The ESY indicator,RCDTS code ,start and end dates are entered in Powerschool on the 504\/IEP page. Students changing placements for ESY will have a different ESY RCDTS code than the last active enrollment on the transfer page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ESY IEP\/504 Page entry:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"647\" height=\"114\" src=\"https:\/\/docs.glenbard.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/ESY1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4118\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do not edit Powerschool enrollment.&nbsp; <\/strong>&nbsp;Only update the 504 page \/ESY at the bottom to\nreflect the ESY enrollment needed to create a SIS record. <em>Students that are not changing placement for ESY will not require a new\nSIS enrollment record.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Query ESY students in Powerschool:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"218\" height=\"58\" src=\"https:\/\/docs.glenbard.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/esy2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4119\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Export ESY data, Choose quick\nexport for these fields:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"237\" height=\"239\" src=\"https:\/\/docs.glenbard.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/esy3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4120\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The student services department will provide a web help ticket to data services before the scheduled SIS EOY date (typically mid-June) to request ESY exclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ISBE SIS EOY.Exit process has\nbeen adjusted to accommodate the ESY exclude students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every year in at the end of Semester 1 the ESY data from the previous year will be cleared in Powerschool to prepare for the new ESY.
