Objective:\u00a0<\/strong>If a student is returning a book for a paid fine and has less expensive fines, the return should be applied to pay off the remaining fines, and the student may receive a refund if the student does not have other outstanding fees in Acorn.<\/p>\n

  1. Check in the textbook that has been returned.<\/li>\n
  2. When the textbook is checked-in, that books fine will zero out and the paid amount will reassess and completely pay off the students fines. \u00a0There will also be an amount left over as a credit.<\/li>\n
  3. Click the \u201cEdit Fines\u201d button from the student\u2019s page. \u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
  4. The amount of the available refund will appear in Follett. \u00a0Write this amount down to request a refund from the Bookkeeper. \u00a0This is the maximum refund that the Bookkeeper may issue.<\/li>\n
  5. Click the \u201cUpdate\u201d button to record in Follett that the refund has been issued.\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
  6. Ask the bookkeeper to adjust the student\u2019s Acorn account accordingly and issue a refund check if possible:\n
      \n
    1. To zero out the old fine.<\/li>\n
    2. To reassess the dollars collected on the old fine to the remaining textbook fines.<\/li>\n
    3.
